What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, email address, postcode if you add it, what the enquiry is about and your message. We also note which page you sent it from and, if your browser allows it, how you first found the website (for example a Google search or our Google listing).
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, send you a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running the business. Knowing how people find the website helps us understand which of our advertising and listings are worth keeping.
How we know where enquiries come from
A small script on this website keeps a short note in your own browser of how you first arrived, such as “Google search” or “Facebook”, and adds it to your enquiry when you send one. It is not shared with anyone else, it doesn’t follow you around other websites, and it’s switched off automatically if your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal.
How long we keep it
Enquiries sent through the website are kept on the website for 90 days and then deleted automatically. The email copy, and anything relating to work we carry out for you, is kept for as long as we need it to provide the service, deal with any warranty or query, and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information or share it for marketing. It is processed by the companies that host this website and our email, and, if you agree to analytics cookies, by Google Analytics, all on our behalf. If you follow a link to Trustpilot, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, those websites have their own privacy policies.
Cookies and analytics
If you agree, this website uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use it: which pages are visited and for how long, roughly where visitors are (town or region, never an exact location), the kind of device and browser used, and actions such as sending an enquiry or tapping our phone number. This helps us see which pages and listings are working and improve the website.
Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years. Nothing is set and nothing is sent to Google until you click “Accept” on the cookie bar. If you click “Reject”, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics is never loaded. Google processes this information for us under its data processing terms, and Google Analytics doesn’t store IP addresses. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Your choice is remembered in your browser for a year (in an item called ces_consent). You can change it at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
